Diagrams with depth.
DrillFlow is a diagram editor where every node can open into its own sub-diagram. Zoom in, understand, come back up — with breadcrumbs instead of tab chaos. Runs locally in your browser.
Everything DrillFlow does
Any shape can open a level of its own. But one thing at a time.
Drill-down
A process never fits on one canvas
An onboarding, an incident runbook, a service map: draw the shape of it, then put the detail inside the step it belongs to. Breadcrumbs say where you are, and one click takes you back up.
- Any node can hold its own sub-diagram, as deep as you need
- Inputs and outputs of a level are drawn on its boundary
- Rename a node and its level follows, in both directions
Import
Start from what you already have
A Mermaid flowchart with subgraphs becomes real levels, not one flat picture. draw.io and Excalidraw files come in with their shapes, labels and strokes.
- Mermaid: every subgraph turns into a Subflow you can walk into
- draw.io and Excalidraw files, including freehand and images
- Import into the document you have open, not only into a new one

endPresentation
Walk an audience through it, one step at a time
Presentation mode runs the flow as a talk. A step that owns a sub-diagram is followed by that sub-diagram's steps, so drilling in is an ordinary page turn — the one thing no other viewer can do.
- Order comes from the arrows, then from the document
- The current step is lit, the rest dims — nothing moves
- Free, in the editor and in every shared link
Assistants
Let an assistant draw the first version
Any assistant that speaks MCP can use DrillFlow — the server is in the official MCP registry, so it is one install away. Ask for the process, get a link back, then open it and fix what the assistant got wrong.
- One line to install: npx -y drillflow-mcp
- Listed as de.drillflow/mcp — Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT are tested
- No MCP? The document format is public, so any model can write one
Cloud
The same document on the next machine
Local-first stays the default: nothing leaves your browser unless you say so. Switch a document on, and it follows you — with every version of the last 30 days behind it.
- Per document and opt-in, never your whole folder
- Version history: go back to this morning, or to last week
- Search every document in your cloud at once
Pricing
What you get, and when an account is worth it

Nothing in the two free columns will ever move to Pro. Pro pays for what costs us something to run: storage, versions and search on our servers.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is DrillFlow really free?
Yes. The editor is free and stays free. An optional Pro plan for cloud features will come later — nothing that is free today will become paid.
Where is my data stored?
Locally in your browser (IndexedDB). Only what you actively share reaches our servers — as a snapshot, stored in Germany.
How does sharing work?
"Share" uploads a read-only snapshot of your document and creates a link. Anyone with the link can view the diagram and drill into it. With an account you can manage and revoke your links.
Do I need an account?
No. Drawing, exporting and sharing work without one. You only need an account to manage the links you have shared.
Does DrillFlow work offline?
Yes. DrillFlow is an installable web app (PWA) and keeps working without an internet connection after the first load.
Can an AI assistant create diagrams for me?
Yes. Ask your assistant for a Mermaid flowchart with each level in a subgraph, then use Import → Mermaid… — every subgraph becomes a real drill-down Subflow. The full document format, plus a ready-made skill for Claude, is documented at Format. Or skip the copying: an MCP server puts DrillFlow in the assistant’s own tool list with npx -y drillflow-mcp, so it publishes the diagram and hands you the link — see Docs.
Do you track me?
No. No analytics, no ad cookies, no fingerprinting. The only cookie is a functional session cookie when you sign in to the app.
